ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS IN NGARENANYUKI

Environments are the living surrounds withing our areas, trees, livestocks, air, hills, stones, and so many things are our environment. In our village Ngarenanyuki ward, the environments are the most important things which we are looking about, there are some bylaws of villages which prohibit someone not to destroy the environment. Left picture show the cross section area of the village area, there is small farming cultivation which people planting beans, maizes and sweet yams.

Rivers; are the main sources of water in our villages, there is so many small streams which are mainly used for small irrigations schemes, so polluting the streams means we destroy our environment in one or another way. this nice water is coming from the top of the mountain Meru, the highest in AFRICA.

One of the village house in Olkung'wado, all the villagers are trained to conserve the environment so that will help them in their future aspects.

THE RIVER NGARENANYUKI

The river ngarenanyuki flows from the top of Mountain Meru,  which is so helpful for the Olkung'wado village to all the ways of the economic activities. about 90% of all the people lives in ngarenanyuki are the farmers and livestock keepers, so the river is the most important source of water in all aspects. farmers and livestocks mainly depends on the river ngarenanyuki getting water during the dry season where there is always the shortage of the rain fall while rainfall doesn't exist.

To conserve our river; we need to make sure that we take care of the river in educating the society the impact which will going to rise after polluting the river and may leave us behind while suffering without clean water. but one big challenges which we daily face is the natural minerals (fluoride); which thinking to be generated from the volcanic mountain Meru  and while the river passes can erode some of the minerals and contaminate with the water.

Without the river ngarenanyuki social economic activities may be more harder; this is due to the mostly Dependant from this rivers, but there is no fish in the water there. only irrigations, domestic water, and environmental scenery we have in land Olkung'wado village.

Je TANZANIA TUTAWEZA KWELI KUJITOSHELEZA KATIKA MATUMIZI YA NISHATI?

electricity requirement is going high, and the monthly bills goes up this is due to the higher demand of the daily energy at home. so the big problem to come will be defforestation while people will look for another source of energy (traditional one) so that they can use at home, for food and other activities.

so what will we do next?; we need to look for another sources so that will be helpful for the future replacement so that we will go to sustain. but don't forget there is grobal warming issues.

This is our today post; from sarikiaely, ekaeli, grace, salome, aimbora, eliaremisa, and mwalimu buremoeli

WELCOME TO CERCNGARENANYUKI

This is the ngarenanyuki CERC blog, you are most wellcome to see what are inside of our blog,
the word CERC is abbriviated from COMMUNITY ENERGY RESOURCE CENTER. this center is
organised and suppoted by the EUROPEAN UNION through the BESTRAY PROJECT (bringing energy services to Tanzania rural area).
Ngarenanyuki is a ward located to the east side of ARUSHA town, which is on the other side of the mount MERU. and far side there is Mountain Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in all the AFRICA.

The residencial people who are living to the Ngarenanyuki Ward are MERU'S and MAASAI the pastoralize normadic people who their main activities are livestock keeping, and agriculture and horticulture.

The main source of the energy to our sorrounding area is firewoods, charcoal, and gasoline fuel which are very expensive  for the our around here, so most of the people indulge in cutting trees, which is used for burning charcoal and as use as the firewood as our energy source, so we always cook by using fire, and kerosine for lumping during the night. so through BESTRAY project, now we are getting a relief from provision of the renewable energy which comes from the sources of the natural energy which is used from the SOLAR and the BIO GAS from the livestock fosil dungs.

COMPUTER is another help provided by our project, so we are able to learn the computer which is very interesting to us all, cause it is something which is new to us all here, once we where not able to learn and use the computer but now we know and be able to use it. which the electricity powering the computer is obtained from the solar system.
